Vincent Bach Mount Vernon NY 7D Trumpet Mouthpiece - Gold Plated

This is a beautiful example of a rare Vincent Bach Mount Vernon 7D mouthpiece. It’s similar to the 7C in many regards, but designed more for upper register playing. It’s hard to find this size in general, much less from the revered Mount Vernon era. It’s mostly a lead mouthpiece, ideal for lead in big band jazz settings, or on Latin charts. It’s also suitable for playing D trumpet in an orchestra.

The Mount Vernon era is easily the most sought after and legendary era of Vincent Bach manufacturing. These mouthpieces were made by hand in Bach’s own factory, and were made with significantly higher quality materials than later on. They were also carefully annealed- the process which Bach described as the secret to his incredible mouthpieces. Few mouthpieces live up to the fame and legacy of this era. There are thousands of copies, but none are quite the same as an authentic Mount Vernon Bach. Many legendary players preferred this era of equipment, and therefore it is ideal for both collectors and avid players. Due to the handmade nature of these mouthpieces, they are all unique and versatile in their own way, and no two are quite the same, even if their stamps may lead you to believe so. This is a truly one-of-a-kind mouthpiece which will never be found again.

In fantastic condition. Shank has been rounded, but shows signs of minor repair. Has some general wear and dings on the shank in particular. Small nicks and scratches throughout. Nothing that impacts playability whatsoever. Outstanding condition for a mouthpiece this rare. Fully gold plated.
