Vincent Bach Mount Vernon NY 15C Trombone Mouthpiece - Gold Plated Cup & Rim

This is an incredibly rare Vincent Bach Corp Mount Vernon New York 15C trombone mouthpiece.

The Mount Vernon era is easily the most sought after and legendary era of Vincent Bach manufacturing. These mouthpieces were made by hand in Bach’s own factory, and were made with significantly higher quality materials than later on. They were also carefully annealed- the process which Bach described as the secret to his incredible mouthpieces. Few mouthpieces live up to the fame and legacy of this era. There are thousands of copies, but none are quite the same as an authentic Mount Vernon Bach. Many legendary players preferred this era of equipment, and therefore it is ideal for both collectors and avid players. Due to the handmade nature of these mouthpieces, they are all unique and versatile in their own way, and no two are quite the same, even if their stamps may lead you to believe so. This is a truly one-of-a-kind mouthpiece which will never be found again.

The Bach 15C is ideal for lead players, as well as returning and developing players. The medium-shallow C cup is suitable for most types of playing. The 15 rim is quite small, and is also quite suitable for players who tend to spend long periods of time in the high register, or for general lead playing. Overall, this would be a fantastic mouthpiece for traditional big band swing or Latin jazz. 

This 15C bears no major damage beyond standard nicks and dings which have no effect on playability whatsoever. The shank has undergone minor repair, as it has been dropped in the past and undergone minor deformation. Shank wear is visible, but very minor. The cup and rim is 24K gold plated. Outstanding condition for its age. Minor scratching appears throughout, particularly on the body of the mouthpiece. It’s purely cosmetic and can be seen in photos of the mouthpiece.
